Julep March Maven
01 March 2013
I was excited to see the mailer for Julep's March Box because of the chalky pastels in the image. It was tough to choose between two boxes that I really liked, the Bombshell Box and the It Girl Box.
The Bombshell Box for this month contains Minnie, a warm pastel pink opalescent shimmer; Adrianna, a smoky pistachio creme, which is the color I really liked; as well as the Rock Star Hand Creme.
The It Girl Box, which is my original style profile for Julep, always contains 3 polishes without any other non-polish add-ons. The three for this month are Simone, a soft pastel lilac opalescent shimmer; Shenae, a pastel mint green opalescent shimmer; and Teri, a tropical coral pink creme.
Any guesses which box I chose this month? And if you want to try Julep's Maven program, click here to use my referral link. I believe it's still a penny to try it for a month.
Julep February Box
04 February 2013
It's been a while since I played with nail polish. I don't know why but I just haven't been in the mood to polish my nails lately. The Julep February box might just be the push I needed to start again. I love opening their boxes (when I'm not skipping the monthly subscription) because they always add nice little somethings to surprise you.
See the cute little red heart chocolates?
I usually get the It Girl box but decided to switch this month since I wasn't a big fan of the colors. I got the Classic with a Twist box instead, and the colors are Claudette, a smoky brick red creme, and Helen, a smoky pastel lavender creme.
The box also included their new Freedom Polymer Top Coat which supposedly has a gel-like shine but is easy to remove. It will be interesting to try this in place of my trusty Seche Vite, which gives great since but sometimes causes polish shrinkage on my nails. Another item in the box was the Oxygen Nail Treatment, which I've read strengthens your nails and can be used as both a base coat or by itself.
One thing I always look forward to in the boxes is the little surprise gift they include inside. This month it was this small eyelash curler. It's not something I would buy if I were to see it since I already have one I love, but I think I might have fun just experimenting with it. It would also make a cute little gift, wouldn't it?
Julep Maven Intro Box for a Penny!
17 December 2011
What's a Julep Maven? Or maybe we should do what's Julep first. Julep is a Seattle-based nail parlor that has come out with their own line of nail polishes and hand care products. So what's a Julep Maven? It's a monthly program they started where they send you from $40-$75 worth of products for only $19.99. You can skip a month or cancel anytime if you're not satisfied. Their style quiz results said that I'm an "It Girl", and you can see what they decided to send out in my introductory box.
I haven't tried the polishes yet, but the colors do speak to me and are pretty spot-on as to what I might have picked out. I only paid $5 for my intro box instead of the standard $19.99, so I figured I had nothing to lose by giving it a try, and I'm pleasantly surprised.
They currently have a promotion where the first 1000 new referrals can get their intro box for a penny instead of $19.99 and I think that's an amazing deal. I believe shipping to Canada is also free, but I could be wrong. A Julep Maven also gets 20% off their other items.
This is not a sponsored post. I just thought it was a pretty good deal. If you use my referral link below, I get a free month for every 2 people who sign up:
