Mansur Gavriel

When I saw this bag on Garance Dore's blog, I fell in love.  It reminded me of the first designer bag I ever bought myself (an LV bucket bag that's now all gross and sticky), except in a classier more grown-up way.

Just look at the clean lines.  I want this bag.  And it's pretty reasonably priced!

Look at the pretty red lining.  Love the color pop, but I'm wondering if it would make this bag difficult to match.  I'm also slightly tempted by the camel color as I still do not own a camel colored bag.  The camel with the blush lining or the bright pink lining is awfully cute as well.

Mansur Gavriel has other products, but for a first bag from this line I would definitely get the bucket bag.  Now if I could only find one available online.  I really have no patience for pre-orders.  Do you?

Celine Trio in Glacier

15 July 2013

Untitled

I first saw this at the Boston Saks a few years ago, in a different color of course.  I believe it's gone through several price increases since then, wah!  Does that mean next time I see something I like that's fairly reasonably priced I should just get it?  Haha.

Untitled

Finally, after years of lusting, this Celine Trio (in AW 2013 Glacier) is finally mine!

Untitled

I love how the color is pastel but not too girly.

Untitled

The three compartments are perfect for someone like me who tends to dump everything in my bag in no particular order.  This will force me to get organized, right?  Right?

Untitled

And the size is just right.  Since I'm usually out with my toddler, I need to be hands-free and efficient, and this little bag just screams organized to me.  Can't wait to wear it for the first time!

Valentino Rockstud Leather Shopping Tote

21 February 2013

Untitled

I'm currently obsessed with all things Valentino, so when I saw this Rockstud Shopping Tote pop up on Rue La La, I didn't hesitate (okay, maybe I hesitated a little bit) to purchase it. I was really excited to receive it, so I was surprised to see that it was so floppy and unstructured.  It looked a little sturdier in the online photo. You can see how soft the leather is. I love the color, and I realize now that I also like a North-South tote.  Another things I didn't like is how noticeable the logo is.  I didn't expect it to pop so much.

Untitled Untitled

It's very roomy inside and both sides are lined in leather with lots of extra pockets. The bag has a lot of positives, but unfortunately, I just didn't love it enough to keep it.

Balenciaga Envelope Clutch

21 December 2012

Untitled

From having no clutches to two in a matter of weeks!  I've been wanting one of these for a while, so when Erica had her super sale last week, I finally took the plunge.   I couldn't resist the huge discount, so now this soft and squishy clutch is all mine!

Untitled

I love the rose gold hardware, which I hear is being discontinued, so that was another plus for this impulse purchase.

Untitled

And one more gratuitous photo, just because.

Belle du Jour Clutch

13 December 2012

Untitled

For someone who buys bags like I do, it's surprising that I don't have any clutches at all.  So, of course, when this red beauty popped up on one of the sale sites, I didn't hesitate at all.  It's such a gorgeous red, it's perfect for the holidays, right?

Untitled

I put the nail polish beside it for scale.  Without it, it looks wallet-sized, right?  Ahhh, this time of the year with all its sales is really bad for my wallet, but I can't resist a deal!

Camel bag - is this the one?

Oh, no, not another Olivia Palermo post! Okay, this time the post is not about her, it's about the bag.  Truly! I've been searching for a camel colored bag for a while now and this looks like a likely candidate.

I like that there are two options to carry the bag -- handheld and on the shoulder. I can see myself using it more over the shoulder since I've found that's what works best for me.  I'm keeping this wishlisted at Shopbop while I think about it more.

Orange and Pink

11 April 2012

Untitled

Ah, the weather's finally warm enough to start using brighter colored bags!  These have been in hiding since January (it was warm in Singapore when I bought them!) and I've been waiting to use them when the weather turned more cooperative,

Untitled

I used to be against pink as I thought it was too young and girly.  I mostly stuck with neutral colors in accessories except for a pop of red here and there, but these were just too cheerful to resist.  You can see the leather got a bit squished as this was in my luggage for a long time.

Here's a last look at this happy warm weather color combination.

In memory: LV Papillon Aquarelle

I bought this bag during my first trip to Paris with then bf, now DH, so it holds special memories for me.  However, this bag no longer fits my current style or needs, so I've decided to let it go.  It's been sitting in my closet for years (okay, since 2008) and I haven't even used it once since we moved here.  It's funny, though, that every time I take this bag out and consider selling it, I hesitate and put it right back in the closet.  I have to keep reminding myself that I don't use it and that even if I wanted to save it for my possible daughter, who knows if one, I'll even have a daughter, or two, if she'll even want it right?

So I figured the best thing to do would be to take some photos, write about it in this blog, and then just go ahead and sell it.  If I ever miss the bag, I can always look back on this post, right?

I think I'm kind of in love. To buy or not to buy, that is the question.

Little Girl in Celine Nano

16 July 2011

STREETFSN

How cute is that little girl with her gray Celine Nano?  And if it looks like just the right size for her, does that mean it's too small for me?   Oh, and is that woman on the left totally staring at it or is it my imagination?

I squealed when I saw this photo on Refinery29 today.  The clutch looks so much cooler in real life than when I first posted about it here.  Why, oh, why, did I not purchase this when I first saw it?  Now it's out of stock online!

Mulberry Small Polly Push Lock

30 June 2011

mulberry fall 2011

This bag has been on my wishlist ever since I saw this Mulberry Fall 2011 ad on Stylecaster.  I thought the colors were neutral without being boring and the style is so simple.

Then today I saw it being worn by Kate Middleton and thought, hmmm, that does look quite nice!  I realized, though, that she is much taller than I am and while the bag looks just right for her frame, it might overwhelm me.

Thanks to The BagHag, who pointed out that a smaller size is also available on Net-A-Porter.  I looked up the dimensions on the small version, and at 8" x 10", it looks like the small version is just right for me.   I also love how the textured leather makes the bag more rugged.

The Mulberry Small Polly Push Lock looks equally good styled with '70's classics as shown by Net-A-Porter, as well as with a more contemporary look as seen on the Mulberry website.

Must Resist!

Straw Totes - which one?

18 May 2011

With warmer weather fast approaching, I've been feeling the need for more casual summery bags, and these straw totes just hit the spot for me.  I confess I already have the Rebecca Minkoff tote with me (thanks to Shopbop's recent sale) and I love the way it looks and feels.  Having said that, the much cheaper Madewell tote caught my eye today, thanks to my e-mail inbox.

I'm tempted to return the Rebecca Minkoff tote and purchase the Madewell one instead.  What's stopping me?  I prefer the overall lines of the Rebecca Minkoff tote.  I also like that the bottom is reinforced with leather to give it some structure and that it zips close.  The Madewell tote looks really bulky in the photo above and it doesn't look like it has a zip closure.  It's nice that they both have leather handles, and the Madewell tote is also handcrafted from Africa using fair-trade practices that directly benefit the artisans.

What do you guys think I should do?

PS1 Keep All

07 February 2011

leighton ps keepall

Saw this photo on Bagged and immediately lusted after the bag. It's not the original PS1, which is still high up there on my list of bags that I'm coveting, but this PS1 Keep All struck a chord with me.  I tried it on at Barney's and fell in love with the shape and size.

More Kate Spade goodies

26 January 2011

I was instantly smitten when I saw this post by goldenmeans this morning, and I couldn't help but post about the exact same things!

kate spade bow bangle

This bangle would be perfect for Valentine's Day, right? Or any other red-letter day. It also comes in ring form, but I can never order rings online as my fingers are too small, so this bangle will have to do.

And this clutch made me gasp out loud. It's too adorable, and even has red lining inside!  Oh, Kate Spade, you always have so many things I want need!

Rebecca Minkoff Pink MAC

15 January 2011

Rebecca Minkoff Pink MAC

I haven't done a bag post in a while, so I thought I should share my latest score.  Given that Pantone's color of the year for 2011 is honeysuckle pink, I thought this was appropriate.  I love Rebecca Minkoff's MAC Clutches because they're light yet still roomy enough for my essentials.  This pretty pink color pops against all the grays and blacks of winter and is so cheerful it makes me smile just looking at it.  The best part?  Getting this bag from the Rebecca Minkoff online Holiday Sale at an amazing price!  (The color is more accurate in the second photo.)
